As the Muslim population grows in this area the demand on its service has now increased many folds and it has become necessary to coordinate its activities and operations from a centrally located premises.

A two acre site was purchased in 1998 at 131-137 Belgrave Hallam Road, Narre Warren North, Victoria 3803.

It is planned to build a complex comprising a Masjid and a double storey Community Center to cater for the needs of muslim brothers and sisters residing in the south eastern corridor.

The development of the complex has been approved and a Planning Permit No.P 746/03 dated 16th September 2004 has been issued by the Casey City Council. There is adequate parking provision on site. (Note: As in any planning permit application of this nature, it took a long time to go through the red tape of the planning procedure with the various statutory and local government authorities)

The Construction Phase

The site work prepration and drilling of the foundation piers began in the later part of 2008. The floor slab, an area of 1200 square meters was concreted in january 2009.

The cost to date comprising purchase of 2 acres of land, consultancy, obtaining planing permit, site works, pier drilling, steel fabrication under floor slab, electrical and plumbing works under floor slab, and floor slab concreting amounted to aproximately $410,000.

All this work so far has been completed through the free manual services and mainly financial contribution of our Muslim brothers and sisters residing in and around this area.
